HOLIDAY HOME TOUR

2023 Holiday Home Tour Reservations Now Available

Tour pass reservations are now being taken for the Mason-Dixon Public Library and the Stewartstown Area Historical Society’s Holiday Home Tour scheduled for Sat, Dec 2nd from 11am to 4pm.  The Holiday Tour, which started in 2010, has become a much-anticipated tradition in Stewartstown and surrounding areas.  Tour visitors this year will be welcomed into the following four private residences:

-The home of Mike & Julie Schrum in Fawn Grove.  A classic 1940’s brick farmhouse, updated for this family’s active lifestyle – both inside and out!

-The home of Todd & Debbie Sommer in New Park.  Enjoy the many original features of this farmhouse built prior to the 1850’s and the bank barn circa 1900.

-The home of Harry & Amy Dehoff in Stewartstown.  Enjoy a vintage Victorian Christmas throughout this 1908 farmhouse.  You are also invited to visit their Red Barn Farm Market.

-The Historical Victorian Home at 14 S. Main St in Stewartstown.  This Gothic Revival house built by Stewartstown carpenter John Fishel circa 1875 will have holiday decorations provided by the Historical Society.

-The tour also will include H.O.P.E. Haven in Stewartstown.  You can explore H.O.P.E.’s vision for a respite from cancer, a beautiful home available to community members during their journey with cancer.

-Additionally, the Community of Christ Church in New Park (Gatchellville) will be on the tour and will serve an optional lunch available for purchase.  From a one-room school house in 1912 to a welcoming church today … decorated for the holidays for you to enjoy!

Each tour site is unique…with interesting architecture, history, special collections, or inspiring decorations for the Holiday Season.  The following points of interest will be included on the tour route as optional stops for participants:  Stewartstown Area Historical Society, Stewartstown Train Station, Aviator Brew Hub, B. Leigh’s Coffee, Gatchellville Store, The Red Barn Market, and Teaching Museum for Fiber Arts & Textiles.

Advance reservations for Tour Passes and optional lunches can be made now at the library in person or by telephone since they accept credit cards.  Reservations can also be made at the Historical Society and the Red Barn Market with cash or checks.  Passes are $20 per person (no children under 12 please) and the optional lunch is $7 per person.  On December 2rd, participants will pick up their reserved tour passes and directions at either the Library or the Community of Christ Church and then proceed to tour in the order they desire.  Restroom facilities will be available at both starting points.   Additionally, last-minute tour passes, if any available, will be sold day of the tour for $25.  Please, join us in making our 2023 Holiday Home Tour a success!   All proceeds will benefit the Library and the Historical Society.  Both these community organizations are recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt non-profit organizations.  For additional information, you may contact the Mason-Dixon Public Library at 717-993-2404.
