Farmers Market Nutrition Program


The York County Area Agency on Aging, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, will distribute fruit and vegetable vouchers to qualifying seniors both in-person and by mail.


Eligible seniors can receive $24 worth of vouchers to buy fresh fruit and vegetables grown in Pennsylvania. Please note that there are income limits to be able to receive these vouchers.


Household Annual Income Limits are:

1 person     $25,142 ($2,095/month)

2 people    $33,874 ($2823/month)

3 people    $42,606 ($3550/month)


Other Important Qualifying Information

·     Qualifying seniors must be York County residents and be 60 years of age by December 31, 2022

·     Both spouses may receive vouchers if their total combined income is within the income requirements.

·     Recipients can only receive the SFMNP vouchers once in the 2022 program year.

·     Seniors living in a nursing home, personal care home, or any residential facility where meals are provided are ineligible to receive vouchers.


Vouchers will be distributed from June to September 15, 2022

at various locations throughout York County and by mail.


NO vouchers will be distributed

at the York County Area Agency on Aging office!

Rent-A-Kid is an intergenerational program sponsored by the York County Area Agency on Aging. The program allows older adults to hire local youth to assist them with various indoor and outdoor chores and other odd jobs.


To be eligible for the program

you must be:

• A York County resident

• 60 years of age or older

• Agreeable to a negotiated rate

based on the job (at least minimum wage

    is recommended)


This program provides youth the opportunity for their first employment experience, fosters friendships between the older adult and youth and assists the older adult in getting the needed assistance in and around their home.


There are many requests made for assistance for Rent-A-Kids. Requests include, but are not limited to:

• Snow Shoveling

• Lawn Mowing

• Dog Walking

• Letter Writing

• Light Housekeeping

• Computer/Electronic Device Support

The possibilities for requests are endless.
