 TAX RELIEF

 A program exists through the Commonwealth offering tax and rent rebates for School, County and Township taxes. Additionally, the South Eastern School District also offers a tax rebate program to homeowners (but no rent rebate) for School taxes. What follows is a brief description of eligibility requirements:

  • You must own property (SESD only) and taxes must have been paid
  • You must have attained the age of 65 or
  • You were a widow/widower and attained the age of 50 or
  • You are disabled and attained the age of 18
  • Your income is $15,000.00 or less (including spouse’s income)

  3. What taxes does Hopewell Township assess?

     .00021 of a mil is assessed for property taxes.

    1 percent earned income tax is assessed, of which 1/2 goes to the Township and 1/2 to South Eastern School District.

     

  4. Where does the Township derive the majority of its revenue?

    The Earned Income Tax
